On October 18, 2014, Women in Medicine And Law For The Cure®, a grass roots organization composed of women in these two noble professions, will host the second annual PAINT THE PARKWAY PINK FUN RUN. This is a Stone Oak community event aimed to raise awareness & funds for breast cancer research for Susan G. Komen, in the form of a medical research grant.The event includes a 5K race, a 1-Mile Family Walk and a Kids Fun Run & Diaper Dash.
There is a timed 5K run through the Stone Oak area, along with an untimed 1 mile walk, along with the Kids Run & Diaper Dash. Participants will meet at North Central Baptist Hospital parking lot with the race beginning at Reagan HS. Following the race, an awards ceremony will take place with the top finishing 5k participants recieving medals for age groups from ages eight years old to Masters (60 and over).
Race entry fees include a donation to Women in Medicine and Law For The Cure® research. Participants receive a race t-shirt as well as awards for top finishers. Children participating in the race will receive ribbons and t-shirts.
A post-race health fair will highlight some of the local health-conscious businesses. Activities, such as face painting, dancing, bouncy house and sport activities, will be available. This morning will be fun and enjoyment for the whole family.
Four-legged friends and strollers are welcome.
